Shark Solutions unveils advanced SPFs for interior use

Create high Pigment Volume Concentration (PVC) interior wall and ceiling paints with excellent wet scrub resistance and opacity using our new Starting Point Formulations (SPFs)!

8 new SPFs

R&D work at Shark Solutions has resulted in 8 new SPFs for interior wall and ceiling paints. Key elements:

The PVCs in these SPFs range from 65% to 75%.
All formulations have a gloss level which is < 5 GU at 85°, which makes them dead matt, in accordance with EN 13300.
Different formulas were developed for use with cellulosic thickeners or HEUR Rheology Modifiers.
Our SPFs use SharkDispersionSX2™ or SharkDispersionSR2™ as the sole binder component, thereby maximizing the environmental benefits to the carbon footprint of the total formulation.

The wet scrub resistance

The wet scrub resistance of these formulations (including the already existing SPFs with a PVC of 37%) is shown in the following graph:

Highlights SharkDispersionSX2™ and SR2™

The global warming potential from the contribution of binders can be reduced by 3 to 5 times using a SharkDispersion™, e.g. SharkDispersionSX2™ and SR2™, as the sole binder, thereby achieving a reduction in carbon footprint of 69% compared to styrene acrylics and up to 81% compared to acrylics!
